We had a blast last year, and they asked us back for a second round. This year, the artists will have multiple pieces of data/imagery/dialogue/text for each single prompt. They’ll take that information and create microfilm responses. Again, these can be narrative, non-linear, abstract, or whatever the artist chooses. We can’t wait to see what they will do!

DFFLA is unique in its desire to merge the history of the city, specifically downtown, with the film festival itself. The historic buildings of downtown are the venues for screenings, and there are many themed events, one of which surrounds LA’s love of food trucks and the taco. Taco Cinema is definitely on my list!

The festival runs from September 8-12. We’ll be posting through the 13th. You can view the videos here. Hope you enjoy!

We’ll be doing this inter.sect style, interpreting and translating text and video. The work from each individual artist is below, or you can view the videos as a group here.
